Description

A fun and spooky take on classic shepherd’s pie, perfect for Halloween!


Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Black peppercorns or black sesame seeds for eyes

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic; sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in carrots, peas, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Simmer until thickened.
  4. Boil potatoes until fork-tender, then mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pipe mashed potatoes onto beef filling to create ghost shapes.
  6. Add peppercorns or sesame seeds as eyes for the ghosts.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
