Description

Delicious and hearty Philly cheesesteak bagel sandwich with melted cheese and sautéed vegetables.


Ingredients

  • 1 plain bagel, sliced and toasted
  • 200g ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Vegetables:

    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté until caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  2. Cook the Steak:

    In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes.

  3. Melt the Cheese:

    Lower the heat and layer the provolone and cheddar cheeses over the cooked steak. Let the cheeses melt, partially covering the skillet if needed.

  4. Assemble the Sandwich:

    Mix mayonnaise and mustard, then spread on both halves of the toasted bagel. Place the cheesy steak onto the bottom half of the bagel. Add the sautéed onions and bell peppers on top of the steak. Close the sandwich with the top half of the bagel.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms.
  • Substitute the cheese types to your preference.
  • Ensure the steak is very thinly sliced for even cooking.
  • For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
