Description

A delightful dessert featuring layers of pretzel crust, cream cheese mixture, and peach jello.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 package (6 oz) peach-flavored gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups sliced peaches (fresh or canned)
  • Additional whipped topping for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make Pretzel Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let it cool completely.
  3. Prepare Cream Cheese Layer: In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar until smooth. Fold in the thawed whipped topping until well combined. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust. Ensure it reaches the edges to prevent the gelatin from seeping through. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Prepare Peach Jello Layer: Dissolve the peach-flavored gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Allow the gelatin to cool to room temperature but do not let it set. Arrange the sliced peaches over the cream cheese layer. Carefully pour the cooled gelatin over the peaches, ensuring even distribution. Refrigerate until the gelatin is fully set, about 2-4 hours.
  5. Serve: Cut into squares and serve with a dollop of whipped topping and a mint leaf, if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for a smoother mixture.
  • You can use fresh or canned peaches depending on availability.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a hint of cinnamon to the pretzel crust.
  • Make sure the gelatin is fully set before serving to achieve defined layers.
