- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 cup diced potatoes
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 prepared pie crust
Instructions
- Brown 1 lb ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart, then drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and 3 tablespoons butter, cooking until soft, then stir in 3 tablespoons flour to coat evenly.
- Slowly pour in 1 1/2 cups beef broth and 1/2 cup milk, stirring constantly until thick and creamy.
- Add diced potatoes, frozen vegetables, salt, and black pepper, then simmer for 5 minutes until combined.
- Transfer filling to a pie dish, top with crust, seal edges, cut vents, and bake at 400°F for 30 to 35 minutes until golden.
Notes
- For best results, allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
