Description

A hearty beef pot pie filled with ground beef, vegetables, and a creamy sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 cup diced potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 prepared pie crust

Instructions

  1. Brown 1 lb ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart, then drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and 3 tablespoons butter, cooking until soft, then stir in 3 tablespoons flour to coat evenly.
  3. Slowly pour in 1 1/2 cups beef broth and 1/2 cup milk, stirring constantly until thick and creamy.
  4. Add diced potatoes, frozen vegetables, salt, and black pepper, then simmer for 5 minutes until combined.
  5. Transfer filling to a pie dish, top with crust, seal edges, cut vents, and bake at 400°F for 30 to 35 minutes until golden.

Notes

  • For best results, allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
