- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips or nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Stir in both sugars until combined and slightly cooled.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract until creamy and glossy.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Gently stir in any chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Notes
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
- For softer cookie bars, slightly underbake them.
