- 1 (30-ounce) bag frozen shredded hashbrowns
- 1 (10-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix hashbrowns, soup, sour cream, melted butter, onion, salt, pepper, and half the cheese.
- Spread mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Top with remaining cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
Notes
- This dish can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
- For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or hot sauce to the mixture.
