Description
A deliciously rich dessert featuring layers of chocolate wafer cookies and whipped cream, perfect for festive gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 18–20 chocolate wafer cookies
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup whipped cream for topping
- 2 tablespoons red and green sprinkles for decoration
- Optional: chocolate syrup for drizzling
Instructions
- Prepare the Whipped Cream: In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Assemble the Cake: Spread a thin layer of whipped cream on the bottom of the serving dish or cake plate. Layer the chocolate wafer cookies over the whipped cream. Break cookies into pieces if needed to fill gaps. Spread approximately 1/4 cup of whipped cream evenly over the cookies. Sprinkle a handful of chocolate chips over the cream.
- Repeat Layers: Repeat the layering process, ending with a layer of whipped cream on top.
- Decorate: Top the cake with more whipped cream for decoration. Add festive red and green sprinkles on top. Drizzle with chocolate syrup if desired. Garnish with additional chocolate chips around the edges.
- Refrigerate: Cover the cake and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the cookies to soften and meld with the cream.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider using chocolate ganache between the layers.
- Allowing the cake to sit overnight enhances the flavor and texture.
- For variation, add layers of sliced strawberries or bananas between the cookies.
- Use a serrated knife to cut clean slices when serving.
