Description

Delicious and visually stunning candy apples perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples
  • 6 wooden sticks
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • Assorted sprinkles (red, pink, white)
  • Gummy candies (e.g., gummy bears or worms)
  • Edible glitter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples:
    • Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Remove the stems.
    • Insert a wooden stick into the top of each apple, pushing it about halfway through.
  2. Make the Candy Coating:
    • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water.
    • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
    • Continue to boil without stirring until the syrup reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
    • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Coat the Apples:
    • Working quickly, dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, turning to coat evenly.
    • Transfer coated apples to a parchment-lined baking sheet and let set.
  4. Decorate the Apples:
    • Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
    • Drizzle the melted chocolate over the candy-coated apples.
    • Immediately sprinkle assorted sprinkles over the chocolate before it sets.
    • Press gummy candies gently into the chocolate for additional decoration.
    • Optional: Add a touch of edible glitter for extra sparkle.
  5. Let Cool:
    • Allow the decorated apples to cool completely until the candy and chocolate are firm.

Notes

  • Use a medium-sized saucepan to avoid overflow when the mixture boils.
  • To prevent crystallization, avoid stirring once the sugar has dissolved.
  • If the candy coating thickens while dipping, reheat gently until fluid again.
  • Customize decorations with your favorite candies and colors for different occasions.
