Description
A delicious and creamy banana pudding trifle perfect for gatherings and dessert lovers!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box vanilla pudding mix (instant or cook-and-serve)
- 2 cups cold milk
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 package vanilla wafer cookies or ladyfingers
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: Fresh banana slices and whipped cream for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Pudding: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Follow the package instructions to set. Chill in the refrigerator until firm.
- Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Use an electric mixer to whip until soft peaks form.
- Assemble the Trifle: In a large trifle dish or glass bowl, begin with a layer of vanilla wafer cookies at the bottom. Add a layer of sliced bananas on top of the cookies. Spread a layer of prepared vanilla pudding over the bananas. Add a layer of whipped cream over the pudding. Repeat the layers until the dish is filled, ending with a final layer of whipped cream.
- Chill and Serve: Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld together. Before serving, optionally garnish with fresh banana slices and an extra dollop of whipped cream.
Notes
- To prevent the banana slices from browning, you can lightly coat them with lemon juice.
- For added flavor, consider adding a dash of banana extract to the pudding.
- Ensure the trifle dish or bowl is clear for a beautiful presentation of the layers.
- For a richer taste, incorporate a cream cheese layer by blending softened cream cheese with sugar and a bit of whipped cream.
