Description

Delicious blondies topped with a creamy cinnamon frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (113g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined.
    • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
    • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  2. Create the Cinnamon Swirl:

    • Pour half of the blondie batter into the prepared pan.
    • Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of cinnamon evenly over the batter.
    • Add the remaining batter over the cinnamon layer.
  3. Bake:

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is set and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
    • Let the blondies cool completely in the pan.
  4. Make the Frosting:

    • In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until creamy.
    • Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until well combined and smooth.
    • Add the remaining teaspoon of cinnamon and mix until incorporated.
  5. Assemble:

    • Spread the frosting over the cooled blondies.
    • Optionally, dust with additional cinnamon for garnish.

Notes

  • Ensure the blondies are completely cool before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • For a more pronounced cinnamon flavor, consider adding a cinnamon-sugar sprinkle on top of the frosting.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, refrigerate.
