Description

This colorful layered cake is perfect for celebrations, combining rich flavors and vibrant colors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 egg whites (listed on the box)
  • 1 cup water (listed on the box)
  • 1/3 cup oil (listed on the box)
  • red food coloring
  • green food coloring
  • 2 (3 oz.) boxes instant cheesecake or white chocolate pudding
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 cups Cool Whip
  • 1 ½ cup heavy cream
  • 3 Tablespoons powdered sugar (or more to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • mini marshmallows
  • red and green sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup M & M candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to a temperature specified on the box. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with baking spray and set aside.
  2. Prepare the cake mix according to the directions listed on the box.
  3. Divide the mixture into 3 equal portions. One portion should stay white. Add red food coloring to the second portion, and green coloring to the third. Stir until the color dissolves completely.
  4. Using a spoon, make small drops of each mixture in the bottom of the baking dish. Drop one color at a time, leaving a few inches apart between the drops. Repeat with the second and third colors until the bottom of the pan is covered. Add another layer on top until all mixtures are used. Tap the baking dish on the counter to flatten the surface and swirl the colors just a little bit with a toothpick.
  5. Bake as directed on the box.
  6. When the cake is baked, let it cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes. Poke holes all over the top with the end of a wooden spoon, then allow it to cool completely.
  7. In a bowl, combine the instant pudding and milk, whisking until dissolved. Pour the pudding over the cooled cake, filling all the holes, and spread remaining pudding on top. Place in the fridge to set.
  8. Once the pudding is set and the cake is cooled, mix chilled heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar and mix until stiff peaks form. Spread over the pudding layer.
  9. Garnish with mini marshmallows, candies, and sprinkles before serving.
  10. Store leftovers in the fridge.

Notes
