Description

Deliciously soft and spiced cookies perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg yolk, eggnog, and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  6. Wrap dough and chill for 30 minutes.
  7. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  8. Cut into shapes and place on prepared baking sheets.
  9. Lightly sprinkle tops with nutmeg.
  10. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  11. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
