Description
This marinated top sirloin steak is perfect for tacos, salads, or burritos.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds top sirloin steak
- 2 tablespoons neutral oil (like canola or avocado)
- 4 ounces chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (about half of a 7-ounce can)
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- ½ red onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled
- juice of 2 limes
Instructions
- Add all marinade ingredients to a blender. Blend until it reaches a saucy consistency.
- Add steak and marinade to a resealable plastic bag or lidded container and shake around until the steak is coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 12 hours.
- Heat oil in a cast iron skillet to medium-high heat. Depending on the size of your skillet, you may have to cook in batches. Add the steak and cook until the internal temperature reaches 140℉, flipping once.
- Move the steak to a cutting board and cover with foil. Let rest for 10 minutes.
- Chop steak into bite-size pieces.
- Serve in bowls, tacos, salads, or burritos.
Notes
- Marinating the steak for longer enhances the flavor.
- The internal temperature of the steak can be adjusted based on your preferred doneness.
