Description

A comforting and delicious casserole made with ground beef, cheese, and crispy tater tots.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups frozen tater tots
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add diced onion and bell pepper. Cook for 5–7 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the beef mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture.
  7. Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  8. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the tots are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • This casserole can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
