A delicious and hearty cheesy beef lasagna casserole that’s perfect for family dinners.

- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Lasagna Noodles: Boil lasagna noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Assemble the Casserole: In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce. Place three lasagna noodles on top. Spread half of the ricotta cheese over noodles. Sprinkle a third of the mozzarella cheese over ricotta. Add another layer of meat sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with noodles, meat sauce, and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Allow to cool for a few minutes before cutting into servings.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding a touch of red wine to the meat sauce.
- Feel free to add vegetables like shredded carrots or spinach for more nutrition.
- Let the lasagna rest for at least 10 minutes before serving to help the layers set up nicely.
