Description
Delicious apple cinnamon bombs made with flaky dough and warm apple filling.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough or crescent roll dough
- 1 cup peeled and diced fresh apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 6 soft caramel candies or 1/3 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 cups oil for frying (if not baking)
Instructions
- Peel and dice the apples into small chunks. Sauté in a skillet with a bit of butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened. Set aside to cool.
- Flatten each biscuit or crescent dough into a disk. Place a spoonful of apple filling, a small piece of cream cheese, and a caramel candy or drizzle of sauce in the center.
- Seal the dough by bringing the edges together and pinching closed to form a ball. Ensure no gaps are left.
- Choose cooking method:
- – To bake: Brush bombs with melted butter, place on a lined baking sheet, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes.
- – To fry: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry bombs 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, brush with more melted butter and roll in a cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat.
- Arrange on a serving plate and generously drizzle with caramel sauce before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
- These can be made either by frying or baking, based on your preference.
- For a sweeter coating, mix extra sugar with cinnamon before rolling the bombs.
