Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare Puff Pastry: Thaw the puff pastry sheets according to the package directions. Lightly flour a work surface and gently roll out the puff pastry to smooth the seams.
  3. Cut and Shape: Cut each puff pastry sheet into 4 squares (total of 8 squares). Take each square and cut strips around the edges, leaving a small border.
  4. Prepare Cream Cheese Filling: In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
  5. Assemble the Danish: Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square. Top with a generous amount of fresh blueberries.
  6. Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the edges of the pastry with the egg wash.
  7. Bake: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the assembled pastries on it. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed.
  8. Cool and Serve: Allow the pastries to cool slightly on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
