Description

A delicious cranberry chutney served on crispy crostini, perfect for a festive appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 2 medium Granny Smith apples, chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Olive oil for drizzling on crostini

Instructions

  1. Chop apples and onions into small pieces.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Sauté onions until soft (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add cranberries, chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and vinegar. Mix well.
  4. Simmer gently for 20-25 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  5. Optional: Blend mixture for a smoother texture.
  6. Slice baguette into thin rounds, brush with olive oil, and toast at 400°F (200°C) until golden (about 5 minutes).
  7. Serve chutney atop crispy crostini.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar based on your taste.
  • This chutney can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
